Sweet ride

Sit down.
Now check these out:
What was the first thing you thought/said?
Mine was: too. freakin. cute.
My husband's was: sweet ride
Our son's was: rmmm, rmmm (accompanied by a quick lap of the house on an imaginary bike complete with a mono at the end) I definitely need one!
Our daughter's was: ooooh, a pink one. Do you think they come with a baby seat? (I'm sure custom pimping of your ride is totally the done thing for these bikes)
The all important deets: You can order one here from Kiddimotto. There are six colours to choose from and two designs. They are $299, kinda exy I know but I can think of loads of justifications for the spend. Oh, here's one, free shipping to most states in Oz. Rmmm, rmmm, indeed!

Stick it

Did you see these on Ohdeedoh?
Oh man, I am a sucker for a decal and these would have to be some of the cutest I have ever laid eyes on. Actually yes, I declare these delights the cutest.

Fabric, WASHABLE!, wall decals made right here in little old Oz.
And remember how much fun the cut out paper dolls were to dress up? Well now you your little girl can play it on her bedroom wall. What fun!

To market, to market

I like to think I don't spend very much time at the shops these days. And when it comes to an actual physical shop that's true. But I have to admit I do spend a crapload bit of time browsing the cyber shops.
When I was in my early twenties I could hit up a big city mall or shopping strip for a 10-hour non-stop shop no worries. Now-a-days I can easily jump on Etsy for a quick look for a gift before bed and find myself still clicking hours later.
The drop in the Aussie dollar gave my purse some much-needed respite. But we're back over 80 cents baby and guess what? There's a new market place to spend the wee hours scouring. 1000 Markets is the latest online offering of handmade and artisan goodies. Uh-oh. As an introduction I popped in to their children's marketplace for a mere hour and found so much treasure. I'll be back...

My dream home

I share the dream of many a mum. To build my own eco-haven and live in peace with nature and my little family. Here's one I might be able to afford (I wonder if my daughter can apply for the first home owner's grant for it?):
The Wonderworld Eco House will be available in Australia in April, recycling bins, water tank, solar panels and all. And of course it's made from replenishable rubberwood.

Still searching for something special for a little one?

Um, it's Christmas next week (gulp)! As the day creeps closer I find the shops go into plastic-craptastic overload. I'm sure they work on the notion that sleep-deprived parents panic this time of year and just buy whatever (sometimes literally) jumps out at them from the shelves. Go plastic-free and ignite little imaginations with these adorable hand-made gifts:

Design your very own fairy door for your little believer at monkeytail&wellington. The cuteness is killing me! The doors are a very reasonable $45 and measure 25cm high and 15cm wide and come with a miniature key and little bottle of fairy dust (oh stop it!).

And because once you invite a fairy and her friends into your house you will need somewhere for them to play hide-and-seek and conduct tea parties. These gum tree blocks from bentsticks should do the trick! So much more imaginative than standard blocks. I can already hear my kids asking for some string and a leaf to make a fairy swing. The blocks come in 21-piece sets for $49.95.
